Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

This summer I will have the opportunity to work with students grades K-5 on music and STEAM education. We are excited to embark on building and incorporating coding skills with Lego Spike Prime. We will also learn to read the treble clef and play a few basic songs on the recorder. They are so excited to have the opportunity to learn how to play a few simple songs. These students have never had a music program, so this will be their first introduction to reading and playing music.

These students are eager to learn and explore during summer school.

They will gain valuable building and coding skills using Lego Spike Prime. They will learn to read notes on the treble clef, recognize and clap whole, half, quarter, eighth notes along with rests, and then put it all together as they present their new learning to their peers. Students will use Adobe Express to share their learning and create presentations.
