This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
With the arrival of many multilingual students, I became part of the daily social-emotional rotation we have in place in our daily schedule. It has been an extraordinary opportunity to learn my students' stories and how strong and wise they are, along with their desire to learn and continue their healing journey. I love how my students come to school ready to learn and do their best each day. Each one of the resources I requested in this project will help them continue taking care of themselves. Summer is a great time to think about self-care. With long sunny days and warmer weather ahead, there are opportunities to continue supporting them with their routine and enjoying what the season offers. I added mini journals as writing can be a great way to express their feelings, and checking in with them would help them create healthy habits. Self-care tools such as chalk and jump ropes provide an easy way to get fresh air and sunshine. Moreover, the Connect Four game supports connecting with friends and calms their minds. My students should enjoy being outdoors and keeping themselves learning and engaging during their summer to support their health and wellness.
