In these unprecedented times, I had no idea that on March 13th we would say goodbye in a hurry and learning from home through the Summer. However, here we are day 54 and counting, conducting meetings from any room that is free from our family members, and continuing our learning journey!
My students and I have embarked on the distance learning journey head-on!
We are actively engaged in all sorts of different online platforms and learning embracing new technology while rejecting others. My students and I participate in weekly Zoom meetings to go over new material, launch our Weekly Assignments, and simply to check in with each other.
In addition, I am recording lessons at home for them to view and continue to learn new material. I am conducting 1:1 sessions on Teams and Big Blue Button for the students that need it the most, and I am amazed by their level of engagement and participation, and families' willingness to try new things. We are learning each day and I will continue to try to reach all of my students' academic needs.
These materials will help me tremendously to conduct quality teaching and give timely and relevant feedback. The headphones with mic will enhance the videos I am creating, lectures, and 1:1 sessions. My outdated setup is can be frustrating for scholars to hear, and the feedback on their writings and projects can be difficult for them to understand in text form.
Students deserve the best, especially right now, and I want to provide it for them!
The stylus will allow for feedback and ease of grading for the end of the school year and Summer School.
