This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students have a deep desire to learn and it shows on their faces in class. They love reading and they love fun art projects. My students love sports and Dog Man. 100% of our students receive free lunch. The students here go through a lot every year because of the threat of wildfires, power shutdowns, and of course dealing with COVID-19.

My Project

Studies show that reading is an essential skill needed for life. Think about it... You need to read almost everything, from street signs to social media posts to job applications. Most of my students do not have the resources to have good, quality books at home.

By contributing to this project, you can help my students build their home libraries and give them books that will interest them, inspire them, and challenge them while they are at home during the summer break.

They love reading and will really enjoy reading Esperanza Rising, Hatchet, and Frindle.
