My Students
"The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you’ll go." – Dr. Seuss. These fantastic, informational books will be each student's “ticket” to learning about people and “traveling” to places over the summer.
My students are curious about the world around them.
I am proud to teach a very active and inquisitive group of kindergarten students. We are a blended "family" in our classroom. This "family" includes ESOL students, several speech students who receive services for processing and articulation, students with learning and emotional disabilities, and students with other health impairments such as ADHD
My Project
My students are continually asking questions. I allow these questions to guide student learning. Brain research shows that students will retain information they find most interesting. I plan to use these books, which I have chosen based on student interest, to send home with students to encourage summer reading.
The donation of these informational texts will provide opportunities for my students to discover their magical world even if they do not get to take a vacation this summer.
I want them to realize that books can take them places a car, bus, or plane may never. I want them to discover, as Dr, Seuss so aptly stated, "The more you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you'll go."
Nearly all students from low‑income households
