My Students
Our school serves a great number of students who are English learners. While struggling with economic and language issues, parents tell their children, "You go to school to learn!" The families are so supportive and appreciative of the education process.
Students in first grade love reading and learning!
We incorporate a variety of learning strategies, group work, and learning options to ensure that each student's needs are met, right where they are! They are a unique group, and I am constantly implementing new ways to keep them engaged and learning.
My Project
My students would really benefit from having Summer Bridge Activities books to combat summer learning loss. Students will work at least 15 minutes a day with engaging activities in reading, writing, math, social studies and science. By using Summer Bridge Activities books students can enter 2nd grade prepared and confident.
Learning virtually has been challenging for teachers and students.
We all pivoted and did our best. However, the use of Summer Bridge books during the break will reinforce skills learned and close learning gaps. Students will also get a break from virtual learning and practice handwriting skills with paper and pencil.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
