Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

Our students are energetic, active learners. They attend a Title I school and their parents often struggle to buy supplies, uniforms, and provide lunch. The parents do try their best to send their children to school every day, so they can get a proper education, meals, and exercise and play in a safe environment.

The students try hard at everything they do, from in the classroom to on the playground, because they like school and feel safe at school.

The teachers try equally as hard because we know they are our future and need dedicated educators who care about their success and well-being.

My Project

My students and their parents have worked very hard this year. Everyone has learned to write their name, count and recognize numbers 0-10, rhyme, and recognize the letters and sounds of the alphabet and I do not want summer loss to happen to them.

I want my students to be excited to practice their academic skills all summer long and be ready and eager to return to school in the fall.

The book will help get them excited to return to school and meet their new teacher and new friends. The flashcards will help them practice the skills they learned and the cookie is a treat for them that will say "you are one smart cookie." I want them to enjoy summer but also keep learning.
