Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

I am the proud teacher of a group of Multilingual Learners here in our nations capital. Most of our students are Spanish speakers that hail from Venezuela, Guatemala, El Salvador, Bolivia, Honduras and Mexico. Their parents are very passionate about supporting their children's academics skills. However, in the summer they need materials in Spanish to work on with their kids.

Help us provide each family with a summer learning kit that will prepare students for success in the coming year.

Our kits will include a tote bag that they can decorate themselves, a workbook of grade level academic skills in Spanish, a selection of books in Spanish for shared reading, and basic school supplies.
