My Students
My students are kindergarten and 1st grade students in a self contained 12:1+1 class who have a variety of learning disabilities. They are always eager to learn but have difficulty retaining the information taught. This remote learning has taken a toll on them. Students struggle with focusing when they are in the classroom. Now it’s even harder. Some are shy and don’t want to go on Google Meet in order for me to help them. It has also been a struggle for parents to use technology especially those who do not speak the language to find the lesson, help their child do the work and then to submit the work. They are falling further behind because they are not able to learn the same as they were before remote learning. I want to be able to purchase workbooks and pencils and primary paper in order to fill the gap between now and September.
My Project
The products that I’ve chosen will help fill the learning gap. My students are regressing during the remote learning. My students who have a variety of learning disabilities are falling behind due to parents inability to use technology and parents who don’t speak the language to help their children. These workbooks and that I have chosen are easy enough for my students to follow along. I have selected workbook that are geared for Kindergarten -1st Grade and 1st grade to 2nd grade, in order to review the current year and see what’s ahead for the new year. Students will be learning through the summer with the products I have chosen. Parents do not have to print, download, press a tab by accident or upload the work on google classroom. They will feel more relaxed without the pressure of technology.
