Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

URGENT! I am a third grade teacher with 17 wonderful students. They attend school in the South Bronx in a friendly and caring small school. Upon reading an article in an educational magazine, I was reminded that students who read at least 6 books during the summer vacation will be more productive in September. They will retain more of what they learned, and their reading levels will not drop. I am asking for your assistance to help my students achieve this goal. They will need at least 6 books each. I know that my students will appreciate the new books because they LOVE TO READ! (I am asking early, before school closes.) Thank you in advance for supporting our summer reading! I think these books will make a nice parting, caring gift for my students, and ensure that their education will continue over the summer months.
