My Project

My eager crew of first graders is always learning and growing. I love seeing their excited smiles every morning. Children at six and seven years of age are capable of soaking in knowledge, creating detailed projects, solving puzzling math problems, and developing literacy and numeracy skills that will walk with them through their lives.

More than ever, children need stimulating, hands-on experiences to help them understand the world.

Building number sense and numeracy skills is the foundation for math and STEM.

Sumblox will be an exciting addition to our classroom. Students will develop fluency in addition and subtraction by building with 3-D wooden numbers and stacking blocks. By finding numerical equivalencies they can build elaborate structures.

My students will be overjoyed to use a set of Straw Constructors large enough to build a structure they can stand under. The children will strengthen fine motor skills and eye hand coordination while developing problem-solving and collaborative skills, as they design and build creative structures with classmates.
