This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The counselor team and I would love to set up during lunch on 2 days in September to speak to kids about resources on campus and to bring awareness about suicide. We have an increased number of student risk assessments and many of the students have never come for help or support available. The event allows students to see our faces and talk to us. We often receive peer referrals for assistance through these events. Unfortunately, the topic is not very exciting to students we do use things like a prize wheel, candy, toys, etc to get them to come to our tables. Schools are already tight with money and campaigns still have to take place. We hope that we will be able to offer a few more items to students this coming month. Thanks!!
