Our school is located in a small town in Friars Point, Mississippi. Although this area is small, the smiles on my students’ faces are big. The students are ready to learn. Some students come to school with nothing but hope. Hope that someone will go the extra mile to see them smile. Hope that someone will show them that love is not painful. The students who enter my class know that without a doubt, they will not only be educated but loved every day. These students are brave and have the desire to be successful, but the lack of resources hinder them from being able to showcase their full potential. I have a class full of students who are willingly ready to explore the world from every educational angle and the only thing stopping them is basic resources to prosper. These are my champions and your future leaders!
My students were only 5 points from changing the school’s rating from a C Level to a B Level. As we return for the second semester, the students are entering into a classroom filled with stress and preparation for the end of the year assessment. The students need these resources so they can effectively prepare. As an educator, I try to make these cram sessions effective but fun. Students need hands on activities to help bring the information to life. The color helps the students respond better to the images and the questions so we can use the ink and card stock to create educational study activities. The notecards, highlighters, pencils, and pens will help my students with note taking and identifying text based evidence while finding the correct answer. The dry eraser markers and eraser will be used to allow the students to participate in formative assessments while saving paper. My students need these resources to be better prepared so they can move the school from a C to a B.
