Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My class is an energetic 3rd grade. They have a tremendous desire to learn more about the world around us. My class is a STEM centered classroom. My students will be learning by constructing and sharing their newly learned knowledge with others. We just lack supplies to help construct and present.

My students are a diverse group children.

They are very into exploring the world around them. They learn best by "doing." They have a tremendous desire to learn through exploration. This group of children are "Go-Getters." My students are energetic and driven to be successful. Our school is a K-5 school serving a primarily low income area. We work hard to find the resources to help our students learn to the best of their abilities.

My Project

My classroom is a STEM centered classroom. The students will be presenting their learning to share with their peers. We need printer ink, a paper cutter, a laminator, and laminating sheets to help the students develop/prepare their projects and presentations. The STEM activities will help the students learn through hands-on exploration and team problem solving. The science tools will aid in our science labs and science/STEM projects. Our year will focus around life science -plant and animal life and adaptions and physical science - objects in motion.

All the items donated will help the students take ownership of their work and learning.

Each student has their own iPad, so research papers and information found on the Internet can be copied in color. Science projects can printed in the classroom, so students can work on them while at school. These items will give the students the opportunity to make projects look awesome and they can present them to their peers with pride. The STEM activities/tools are great for hands-on activities.
