My Students

Kindergarten is an amazing place where play and academics weave together so students can have an amazing start to their academic careers. My kindergartners come into the classroom eager and ready to great the day and the many exciting opportunities to learn!

Our school just opened this year.

Many schools are established, and we are on our way to becoming this, but right now we are using additional places to help us fund additional supplies.

The focus of the school is on STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math). Our focus is hands on, project based learning. We work together to build those important 21st century skills. My students come into the classroom knowing that they are a part of a family, and we all work together to learn and to be smarter!

My Project

Having choice in kindergarten is crucial in kindergarten. I used alternative seating last year in my classroom and had tremendous success with my students ability to make successful learning choices by allowing them to choose their seats. I moved schools this past year, and unfortunately, I had to leave my alternative seating behind. I am slowing building my resources back to what I had last year.

Kindergarten is a magical place where fun and learning collide.

Besides the alternative seating, I am asking for lights that will line the wall behind our cubbies to provide a relaxing but fun atmosphere for the students. I am also asking for Pete the Cat as he will be an amazing addition to our reading buddy collection that my students use during independent reading time. Finally, I am asking for pencil pouches to house our games, puzzles, and STEAM challenges. These pouches will allow my students more independence in getting their projects started without asking for assistance from me.
