This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students are a group of diverse middle school science students. We are at a Title I school. Most of my students come from a low socioeconomic background. I strive to have my classroom accessible and equitable, but that becomes a challenge when resources are limited.
The materials requested will help my students be successful in class.
We are requesting Clorox wipes to clean off tables when there are spills during labs and disinfect laptops that students are using in class. The paper requested will be used to help students differentiate their notes when they put them in their science notebook. I can tell students to refer back to a certain colored notetaker or assignment in class so that students can find their work easily. The Kleenex requested are for students to use, especially during the winter season. Students go through a lot of Kleenex and I would like an easy way to replenish the supply for their need. We are also requesting colored pencils and markers for students to creatively showcase their learning on assignments and projects along with a pencil sharpener that will allow for use of the colored pencils. The headphones are for students to use when they are on their laptops working on their iReady lessons.
