Successful Readers Needed!

My students need a leveled library so that they can be successful readers. It is important for students to feel that immediate success, especially in reading!

My Students

My students are second graders who wish to read awesome books at their levels. We are an inner city, underprivileged school in Indianapolis. My students come from many different backgrounds. Our population is primarily African American and ELL.

Many of my students live in multi-family homes or shelters.

Most of the parents of my students work multiple jobs just to pay the bills. Many of my students do not even have the chance to enjoy being a kid because they have to look after younger siblings. These students are so deserving of having nice things in their classroom.

My Project

Have you ever been a struggling reader? I have and I know what it feels like when all of your friends are choosing cool books to read and you are stuck with boring decodable. This project will help all of my students feel like awesome readers.

I am so excited to have amazing books in my classroom that inspire readers of all levels.

This leveled library would be such a blessing. I look forward to seeing those lightbulb moments that spark an interest in reading! This project will put the joy back into reading! Thank you for joining me in developing young minds and creating life-long readers!
