Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I have an amazing class of 24 kindergarten friends! I have not yet met my students in person this year because we have been doing at home virtual learning. However, I've gotten to spend many hours on the computer with them and they are so sweet and ready to learn. On September 28th, we will be coming back to school to follow a hybrid learning model. Half of my students will come to school on Monday-Tuesday and then be online for Wednesday-Thursday. The other half will have the opposite schedule and be home Monday-Tuesday and at school on Wednesday-Thursday. I am hoping to provide my students with everything that they need to be successful and sanitary when they're learning at home and at school this year.
My Project
The materials requested in this project will cover necessities that students will need for learning this year. Basic school supplies such as glue, scissors, folders, and writing journals will cover our learning needs. Since COVID-19 guidelines prohibit students from sharing supplies, I am requesting large quantities to ensure they will each have their own personal supplies to use for at home learning and in school learning.
I have also requested items that will allow students to keep their stuff organized when they are learning at home.
The cardboard book boxes will allow students to keep their papers and materials in one spot that they can go to. The pencil pouches will allow students to keep their pencils and crayons in their own pouch during the school day and at home. When the kids are at school they will have their own pouch with personal supplies in it so that we will not have to rotate and sanitize the supplies between use.
Many of my students do not have any learning materials at home, so this project will give them the materials to be successful with their learning all days of the week (at home and in person).
