My Students

Our students come from very low-income families, so they really don't get to experience a lot in life. Our school is a Title One school, but our teachers wouldn't want to teach anywhere else.

Our students are really great kids who want to excel and become great leaders and people.

It's a great thing that they can see themselves out of the situation they are in and into a much better one. They strive to do well and try so very hard to do a great job.

Sometimes working with these students is hard, but these kiddos just fill my heart with joy. I couldn't imagine going anywhere else, even when I have the option to work with students who do not have the limits that these students must deal with.

My Project

It's towards the middle of the year and our classroom supplies are dwindling! The students are using paper and pencils to write on and the chart paper to create projects. In Language Arts, we are doing a lot of writing to try to catch the students up to grade level achievement.

Success comes from having the right supplies.

Students can't learn unless they write notes and do classwork. Without pencils, they can't write and without paper, they can't put their ideas down.

The chart paper helps them create projects or posters that they can put on the walls of our classroom, so they can remember things that we have worked on during the year.
