Help me give my students access to hands-on learning with basic supplies and 21st-century tools such as an iPad, Apple TV, black lights, and other materials.
FULLY FUNDED! Mrs. Hajek's classroom raised $997

My Students
A typical day in my classroom starts off with a high five and smile. School is a place where my students feel welcome and loved every day.
My classroom is composed of a large percentage of students receiving free/reduced-price lunch, as well as a variety of backgrounds.
My fifth graders are all unique and come to school with many different needs. My fifth graders come to school excited and eager to learn, despite the challenges of learning through the COVID-19 pandemic. Our classroom is a safe place for students to have the freedom to learn through their mistakes.
My Project
Because of the COVID 19 Pandemic, students are coming into the classroom with a variety of missing skills. I plan to use the iPad to help students become creators instead of just consumers of digital content.
Students will use the iPad to practice 21st-century skills.
Students will use the iPad in stations to promote collaboration, creativity, comprehension, and critical thinking to review and enhance literacy skills and meet our listening and speaking standards. Students can use the iPad and AppleTV to create and cast presentations, podcasts, and videos to apply their learning.
Our iPad will also be used in our school's after-school club, The News Club. Our news club is packed with fourth and fifth graders working together to create digital content such as digital newsletters and videos to spread the good news happening at our school. This allows them to practice much-needed planning, writing, public speaking, and technology skills needed to be successful in the 21st-century workplace.
The cardstock, printer ink, and black lights will be used to create hands-on learning games to reinforce a plethora of literacy and writing skills. When kids are playing games, they are learning without realizing it, making learning fun and engaging. This is also why I have added a tic-tac-toe game, so students can enjoy playing a classic game while still learning in reading stations. The skittles have been added to give away as prizes for the game winners.
