Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My district introduced a new program this year that gave my school an exciting opportunity to become one of the first to welcome this unique program into our community. Our program provides under-credited high school students with the opportunity to earn credits in a way that best fits their needs.

This program provides a very special opportunity for disengaged students by helping them reconnect with a school community.

Through our innovative Project-Based Learning curriculum, students have voice and choice throughout their modules. PBL curriculum not only provides students with the chance to feel proud about their work but also opens the door for social-emotional learning that they can use both inside and outside of the classroom.

Many students in our program have difficulties at home and this program creates a safe space for them to become successful.

Students in our program often feel misunderstood, but with our inclusive community, the same students are now taking pride in their work, their individuality, and their future.

My Project

Each item will be used as a way to further student academic and emotional success. To best support our students, my program teamed up with the graduation support team for well rounded encouragement.

The ear buds, fidgets, and snacks will be used as a way to encourage students to go to every class, engage with their work, and help us build connections.

With a team effort, we are hoping that students see how many people are behind them, cheering them on. We know they can be successful are are looking for a way to show them how important hard work is through the use of celebration and accountability.
