Success Is Our Future

My students need pencils, scissors, crayons, wipe and write boards, glue sticks, construction paper and sentence strips to start the year off with success.

My Students

These students attend a Title I school where 96% of the students receive free or reduced lunch. These third graders come from single parent homes or homes where one or more parent is unemployed or possibly they are homeless. Many of my students speak languages other than English at home but their families provide for them the best they can. The first graders in my classroom at times struggle with learning because of the lack of supplies and educational cutbacks.

My Project

My students need pencils, glue sticks, wipe and write boards, construction paper, scissors and sentence strips. Having these basic school supplies will allow students to become organized with their school work. They will be able to be creative and imaginative and complete class and school work. Without these basic necessities for the students, students have a harder time learning.

I know that we all have financial troubles in some way or another, but if our students do not have the basic supplies they need to help reshape the world, what will our future look like?

Please help me to make this school year a success and not a struggle for my students.
