My Project

We have transitioned into teaching phonics using the science of reading approach and are in need of some materials to assist student learning during literacy centers.

Our class is hoping to receive materials such as Elkonin boxes, magnetic letters, and magnetic chips that allow us to practice our phonics skills during literacy centers.

Students will be able to practice decoding and encoding words with the help of segmenting trays and letter tiles. They will be able to use poppers and magnetic chips to break down words into a number of sounds and blend the words together.

I have already witnessed many learning gains when it comes to my student's reading skills thanks to teaching phonics skills explicitly and hopes to continue these gains with the help of these literacy center tools.
