Substance Use Specialist Seeks Comfortable Healing Space for Teens

Help me give my students bean bag chairs, a refrigerator and coffee table, for a comfortable office while they navigate difficult conversations about substance use and trauma.

My Project

As a substance use specialist, I work closely with teens on the West Side of Chicago who have been impacted by cumulative trauma, including violence, poverty, and substance use in their communities. These young individuals need a safe, welcoming space where they can heal, build resilience, and envision a bright future.

This project will create a comfortable and secure environment by providing seating, sensory tools, and wellness items that promote relaxation and open conversations.

A well-equipped space will help foster trust, encourage engagement, and support healing.
