My Students

My students are at risk of failing to meet the State's academic achievement standards. We are grant-funded based on the number of economically disadvantaged students.

My students come to me without some of their basic needs met as all of my children are 200% below the federal poverty line.

It is my job to fill in the developmental gaps and ensure kindergarten readiness. I serve at a Title I school.

I serve 20 children, all of whom receive free lunch. I have students with individual education plans and several kids with speech concerns.

My Project

Starfall is an engaging interactive tool that will help them learn numbers, quantity, and phonics. There is also a wealth of downloads including leveled reading books, writing, and number resources. There are nonfiction and fiction books the students can access. There are short vowels and long vowels books and materials. There are songs and movement dances for students to use during music and movement time. This resource includes geometry and measurement resources.

The students use this interactive website every morning for a morning meeting to experience the letter sounds and numbers every day.

We need headphones to use this resource with iPads. Headphones are usually broken and do not last very long. These headphones are heavy duty and designed for children. They also have a mic with the headphones to use with or intervention curriculum.
