This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I am a special education teacher. My students are high energy, fun loving children. They enjoy doing hands-on activities and love to be creative. They really enjoy project-based learning because they get to build their own learning paths. I also enjoy teaching using project-based learning because it involves many 21st Century Learning Skills. My students love to move around the room and work in a collaborative community.
I encourage small group projects daily.
Flexible learning communities in our classroom have become a part of our classroom culture.
My Project
We will use the process of sublimation to creatively publish and illustatrate my student’s short stories as beautiful keepsakes. The printer will be used create personalized covers. The heat press will be used to sublimate images and press them permanatly onto their books. Lastly the binding machine will be used to bound the books for the students. My students love to create and I think that their work should be a reflection of who they are. With the process of sublimation each student can personalize their work using a new printing method. Students will also display their work for the entire school explaining the process they used and the materials.
