My Project

For the past two years, my fashion design class has put on a fashion show in the spring. I love watching their ideas come to life from sketch to finish look. The problem is we are missing a way to professionally finish their garments.

In the realm of fashion education, the introduction of a serger into my classroom would enrich the learning experience and equip students with essential skills for success in the industry.

A serger streamlines the sewing process while saving valuable time. With its ability to trim fabric edges, encase them with multiple threads, and create professional-grade sems in a single pass, the serger enables students to complete projects more quickly, allowing for a greater focus on creativity and experimentation.

Additionally, the serger reinforces the durability of garments, instilling a sense of craftsmanship and attention to detail in students. By securely locking stitches and preventing fraying, it ensures that garments withstand the test of time, enhancing their quality and value.

Ms. Jacobs will only receive her materials if this project is fully funded by July 25.
