Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students attend a Title I public school in a multicultural, diverse community. Each student is offered the opportunity to free breakfast and lunch as well as various other free services. Our school is one of seven high schools in the city, and our student population is about 2,000 children. My students bloom in wonderful diversity and culture offered in the school and community, however many struggle due to outside responsibilities.

My students are eager and open to new experiences but struggle to make real-world connections and applications in life.

They flourish when they have new opportunities to learn various ways to be creative and to use these art tools and techniques in other areas of their lives.

My Project

Students have been working so hard this year during the pandemic. Many of my students work remote from home, while some continue to work in the classroom. Our class is creating works of art digitally with the use of GIMP to make expressive, meaningful works of art. These plastic storage containers and styluses will help enhance their learning experience and give them the tools needed to succeed. The tools will help build their skill and confidence while utilizing technology to work through the creative processes. Please consider supporting my classroom this year.
