My students need sturdy tables to complete their daily assignments throughout the school year. New tables would allow my students to have more space to collaborate with their peers. Our current desks are outdated and wobbly.
My students walk into our classroom every day full of life, ready to learn, and excited for what is in store for them that day. I want them to know I believe in them and they can do anything.
I teach at a Title I school in Missouri where more than 80 percent of our students receive free breakfast and lunch.
Many of my students receive backpack food on the weekend. Despite so many hardships, my students are eager to learn and do their best. They want to be in school because they want to learn all they can so they can be successful one day.
My Project
I am requesting 3 sturdy tables to complete collaborative daily assignments throughout the school year. New tables would give students and myself more space to move around the classroom.
Our current desks are wobbly and interrupt their concentration.
Without the distraction of wobbly desks, my students will be able to focus on their individual and group work. Sturdy tables will ensure, for the most part, concentration on their tasks at hand. Students constantly complain about their desks and even go to the point of putting cardboard underneath the legs to try to sturdy their workspace. This simple classroom staple will make such a difference in my classroom.
