This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Hello! I teach in a Title I public school that has recently been put into modulars due to a lack of space in the main building. Our school has been struggling with the amount of students we house and the space we don't have for them. 4th-grade teachers have been given small modulars to teach from for the next few years. At the beginning of the year, we were promised furniture and ample supplies while being out in the modulars but we have never received it.

I plan to use the cushions as flexible seating since my students only have small desks to work at.

I will utilize them for math and reading stations and partner work times. We also will use the lap desks for more flexible seating around the room for stations and working. At our school, we utilize our computers a lot for learning and the headphones would be sturdy and last them a long time. I have bought headphones for my classroom myself before, but couldn't afford nice ones, so they all broke even when the students were super careful with them.

All of these items would help ease the stress off of me and my students by supplying them with the proper tools they need to learn. Most times, we have to just make things work, and it eats up a lot of time. Having these flexible seating options would make it much easier to help my students when working in groups.
