Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
A day in the art room is full of creativity in all forms! A diverse set of materials fill the room and engages the students in learning. We are working toward building a foundation of art materials to explore all mediums!
This school is a Title I charter school supporting low-income families.
The school serves students from kindergarten through 8th grade. This school is growing academically and is full of potential! The art program is an enrichment program to support creativity. Through joyful school experiences, we are forming lifelong learners and a positive school climate and culture.
My Project
In the art room, I try to give my students a well-rounded, hands-on learning experience that exposes them to all mediums of art education. Fiber arts is a popular experience among students, and they are always wanting more of it!
My students need felt, sewing needles, thread, tacky glue, and other fiber arts materials to create and embellish their Stuffie Pillow Character Designs.
For this projects, students will sketch their design, transfer their design to a felt template. Students will cut, sew, glue, and collage pieces together to create their pillow characters. I know students will enjoy this fun project !
