Stuffed Animals + Stickers = Reduced Test Anxiety

My Project

My students are inquisitive, funny and eager to learn new things. My classroom is a science classroom. Students are doing science every day. However, even though students enjoy our class, the anxiety of tests and quizzes can hamper their ability to perform at their best level on assessment day.

The stuffed animals I am requesting will serve as 'testing pals' for students who would like something to interact with on assessment days to help relieve anxiety during the class period.

They will have their choice of many different 'stuffies' to keep with them while they are testing. They may chose to use the same stuffie for every assessment or may choose to change up with each new assessment task.

High school students also love stickers and post-it notes. Having these items to reward positive behavior - working well with their group, helping a classmate, cleaning up the lab, etc - will hopefully motivate them to be mindful of how their actions impact themselves and others.
