Help me give my students Science Spin and Scholastic Let's Find Out digital and print magazine subscriptions so they can learn about science and the world around them in a fun and engaging way!
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Our K-2 students are special because they are beginner ESL students who are learning both the language and the content. They are energetic, enthusiastic and love to learn, especially about science.
This project would provide each child with a copy of Let's Find Out and Science Spin (K-2) magazines each and every week.
Plus they would have full use of the website in two languages, which can be used at school and at home.
Our students will become familiar with so many important scientific topics and explorations such as climate, seasons, clouds, recycling, the power of he sun, animal adaptations, animal homes, bear scientists, the food chain, Earth Day, the work of Jane Goodall, storms, clean water, land formations, how seeds grow. Through the fascinating videos, articles, photos and activities, our littlest students will learn about being responsible citizens who appreciate and take care of the environment around them.
Each week listen to the magazine articles together on the Smartboard, watch the accompanying videos, discuss and complete comprehension activities and put all this knowledge to work in real life situations. Kids love learning with Scholastic News and Science Spin and they will grow to love and respect our earth as a result!
