My young learners live in a quiet suburb in Utah. The students are surrounded by red rocks, beautiful country life, and an active community. They have the unique opportunity to enjoy the vast gorgeous mountains that surround our community. These students are full of wonder, and curiosity about the world they have yet to explore.
These fifth-grade students are excellent little scholars who thrive on being self-directed within the classroom.
They are dedicated learners who enjoy utilizing their own voice and choice within their learning styles. They are driven by discovery, motivated by projects and experiments, and excited to learn new things. Our elementary school allows these students to meet new challenges with determination and motivation for a better future. At the same time, building upon these students' strengths and encouraging them to face their challenges with willingness and an open mind.
My students will take control of their learning as they apply 21st-century learning skills by integrating Studies Weekly into their education. Students will collaborate in meaningful ways as they are given the opportunity to move freely within their classroom to work on their Studies Weekly history tasks. Studies Weekly will help give students a more active role by allowing them to be self-directed as we create a personalized learning experience within our classroom. The learning return and skill development resulting from this project include teamwork, accountability, self-knowledge, and engagement with an excitement for learning about our American History.
