My Students

My students with autism are amazing. I am a special day teacher in a low-income/high poverty school district. My students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. Despite the many challenges they face, I am trying to provide my students with creative and meaningful learning experiences.

My students are excited to explore and learn to expand their capacity for critical thinking.

They take pride in their efforts and are willing to challenge their minds for the sake of learning.

My Project

The sewing kits and sticker crafts will help my students with autism improve their hand-eye coordination and motor planning. With the kits I will be able to teach my students the joy of learning to solve unique problems while getting something tangible to show for their hard work.

The kits are the perfect activity for beginners to learn valuable life skills like how to sew.

The kits will help to build my students’ self-esteem by keeping them actively engaged in learning. My students will enjoy making their own animal crafts and sticker activities while improving their fine motor skills.
