Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I would like to have an LCD projector in the classroom that would allow students to explore the internet as a class, have on-line experience browsing for jobs (guided by the teacher), as well as watch videos and movie clips about various job skills and employment information that are presented on-line.
The students I teach have severe disabilities and we work to prepare them for real-life experiences. Most places implement on-line applications and students need to see and experience how this works in a classroom setting before going into the place of business. I have a laptop and would like to be able to project websites, applications and other information onto a screen for all students to see and learn from.
The students will greatly benefit from this experience as it will allow them to work as a group and also see their peers participate in a non-threatening environment.
