This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

Do you remember the first book or magazine you ever read? Well, how about the last? I want my students to read for enjoyment when they have finished their schoolwork.

My students live and learn in a high poverty area.

However, regardless of this, they have brought a desire to learn into the classroom. They are eager to learn even though they may lack the necessary supplies. They are a great group of students.

My Project

The resources I have requested from donorschoose will be greatly valued and appreciated. The students will be able to read different material that will take them to places other than the poverty and poor surroundings they see on a daily basis. When they have finished writing their stories, they will be able to see their work in print and feel like a real publisher.

Donations to my project will expose my students to different reading material.

The broad impact will be an increase in the child's self-esteem when they can take pride in seeing something they have written in print.
