Students Voice Improves Student Engagement

My Project

My students are eager to learn and become active participants in their learning process. Student voice is allowing students to be active participants in their learning. There are many benefits to promoting student voice in the classroom.

Focusing on student voice promotes engagement at every level.

Response cards are cards, signs, or other items all students in a class hold up simultaneously to display their responses to questions or problems presented by the teacher.

The main goal of response cards is to increase the number of times throughout the day when an entire classroom of students can engage and respond and demonstrate what they’ve learned.

My students are noticeably more engaged in their work and less disruptive of their peers when they are given a choice of expressing themself by giving their own answers to given questions.

The products that I have selected will help my students by giving them the opportunity to answer questions using the Plickers cards to show their response. The mini flip cards will help them to display their understanding of the lesson for example, I need help, I got it and slow down. The headphones with microphone will allow them to record their response while using their online reading program.

I have seen how allowing students to response and engage in the lesson can positively affect my students work and learning.
