In Room 208, every student owns the responsibility for learning. This document camera creates the necessary opportunity to project individual workspace large enough for everyone to see. It develops an incomparable sense of confidence, and it puts on full display our content proficiency.
My students, my champions, come to the Murphy from various socio-economic and cultural challenges.
While in our classroom, they are celebrated and expected to shine. This is much more than verbal praise. It requires the highest academic productivity, and a document camera is one excellent tool to facilitate this kind of learning environment. Nothing compares to observing my students demonstrate mastery to the rest of the class! Thank you so much for wanting to enable this!
My Project
Our students can either show finished work under the document camera, or can be producing an artifact of learning "live on camera". In previous years, I've used a camera of low quality. Although the experience was somewhat similar, the constant disruption of the image being out of focus was frustrating to all of us.
Often, a strategy that a student chooses can have the greatest impact upon their peers. For example, I remember a particular division strategy that one student modeled using a document camera that caused others to have math epiphanies! I had not even considered teaching it this way, but it demonstrates how powerful collaborative classrooms can be.
By donating to this project, you will directly empower our students to lead.
You will provide them the tools to shine in this digital age, and give them the opportunity to step into their potential.
