My Project
Rain is good but not when there is a leaky roof right over the classroom library.
Loss of a lot of books which was upsetting but it turned into a great opportunity as I enlisted the students to look for books online that they think would be an asset to our library.
The kids took the job seriously and wanted to ensure the genres were represented with boys and girls as main characters who were having great adventures.
The list was long and we had to do some editing. The student are excited and feel that they were able to take something that could have negatively impacted into a positive. It has been empowering for the kids and they are very excited to see if other students will like each of the individual selections. It is hoped that you can support rebuilding the library and giving a new spin to reading in 5th grade.
