My Project
These materials will enhance my students specialized instruction minutes. Next year, I will have 4th and 5th grade special education students. I strive to get my students as well rounded in school as possible and I believe all of my students could benefit from having these tools in our classroom!
These tools and manipulatives will help my students learn by allowing them to move from concrete experiences to abstract reasoning.
My students are visual learners and learn best when they can explore the materials in math which is why we need all of the math manipulatives. I have chosen manipulatives that align with 4th and 5th grade standards. Majority of my students also have specialized instruction in writing. They require graphic organizers, word walls, and support from a teacher to complete writing so the writing resources will be a consistent tool for my students to use all year long. Specialized instruction in reading is a large need for all of my students. Along with tier 3 interventions, I will use the reading comprehension books to assess consistently.
