Students Need to Learn (Not Worry About School Supplies)

My students need the basic classroom essentials (markers, pencils, notebooks) so they can focus on learning in the classroom.

My Students

As a teacher in a public charter high school, my classroom consists of students from a variety of ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds. Our school provides an opportunity for children from local and neighboring towns to earn a valuable education and prepare them for life after high school. Whether students are entering the work force, military, or college, we have high expectations in all that they do.

My Science classes are full of students who are eager to learn but sometimes get defeated when they feel they don't know how to overcome certain learning related obstacles.

My goal is to help my students make positive meaningful connections with the material they learn in the classroom - ultimately making them lifelong learners.

My Project

When students are trying to learn and discover, they should not have to worry about aquiring school supplies. While some students have the means to purchase their own high quality supplies, many students do not and are afraid to ask. When this happens, students will try to make do with inadequate supplies and their learning suffers.

To ensure sure that my students are focused on learning, I am requesting essential supplies for the classroom so that each student feels they have everything they need to focus on the discovery and learning process.

Extra notebooks, pencils, glue sticks, and tape will ensure that each student has quality materials for an interactive notebook. A classroom set of pencils and markers will allow students to highlight and make meaning visual connections with their notes. Rulers, Play-Doh, washable crayons and poster markers will enhance modeling projects in the classroom.

With your support students will not have to worry about how or where they are getting their supplies for school. They will be able to focus on discovery, building skills and making meaningful connections.
