Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students come to school wanting to learn more each day. They love setting goals for themselves throughout the school. Our school is a Title I school located in a low-socioeconomic area. Some of the students at our school are experiencing homelessness. Many of their parents work very hard to provide as much as they can. Sometimes work can be hard to find in our area. Still, they do their best to provide the needs of their children.

They come to school with smiles on their faces ready to take on each day's lessons.

They love working together with their classmates. Even through their struggles, they want to learn. I want my students to be able to get the best education, no matter where they live or who they are.

My Project

We use a number of different supplies every single day. Throughout the year, they need to be replenished. My students are in some pressing need of these items. I want my students to come to school without any worry about supplies. They are going to be in charge of their own bucket of supplies.

We are working at being more responsible and becoming the best leaders we can be at our school.

This will help them take responsibility for their materials and their learning.

These materials would greatly assist students in my classroom that have classroom responsibilities, such as, checking homework and being responsible for passing out and organizing papers.
