This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I have sixth, seventh, and eighth-grade students. I have students with specific learning disabilities and other health impairments. My students challenge themselves to learn and try new things. They always try their best and go beyond what is asked of them.

Even if at times we have limited resources, the environment of acceptance and allowing students to express themselves makes up for it.
My Project
Students need to be full to be able to learn. Students cannot be expected to concentrate on class material, while being hungry. Lunch time seems like hours away sometimes. Students constantly ask for snacks during our 80 minute classes. Students become low-energy when they are waiting for lunch. Some students do not bring their own snacks or lunch so they do not have the option to take a small, short break and eat their snack outside. It is hard for me financially to provide my students with snacks everyday. But I will continue to do it.
