Students Need Materials to be Creative and Express their Uniqueness!
Help me give my students materials to be creative and express their uniqueness like glue sticks, acrylic paints, markers, crayons, canvas panels, colored pencils, bowls and paint brushes.
My students are motivated, hard-working individuals that come each and every day ready to learn, ready to try, ready to overcome mistakes they had the day before, and ready to give their 100% each day even when it is tough. Many of my students come from mixed homes and homes that have been through trauma and poverty, but that does not stop their motivation or drive to make good choices and to be exceptional. With my love of growth mindsets, we talk about how to turn situations around and see the positives and talk about what they can control. This offers students choices in their lives and a new way to look at the world around them.
My Project
My students need some basic artistic materials to express their uniqueness and be creative through different mediums. Students do a lot of work with pencil and paper, but what about using art to express who they are and what they are learning about? Students love to take time and draw, color, and paint. These materials will be used to help students express their creative side to share what they are learning about. One of my goals is to have students create the "story of who they are" by painting a panel of canvas. Then this canvas will be mounted on the wall to share how we all fit together and who we are. This one project will remind students about their daily successes and inspire them to keep moving forward and persevering in school. The last items are crayons, markers, colored pencils that students will use all year to create posters or daily work to show out what they are learning about. Each of these items are needed in the classroom for students to excel in their learning.
