My Project

Hi! I am the Clinical Coordinator for an Emotional Impairment strand program that I piloted last year and I am excited for the 2nd year adventure that has started with my students because this program has focused on giving them the social-emotional support they need to be successful in the classroom as well as reaching their personal goals! To say I love these kids might be an understatement and even though they are constantly knocking at my office door sometimes just to say hi because they need someone to share some extra love with them reinforces my belief that all kids need to know that they have someone who they matter to no matter what! I have found over the past year that they need both their basic, human, needs to meet as well as their social-emotional needs met! They are so full of life and deserve all the support I can give them! I am always striving to create a safe space within my office where they can always come to and get holistic support whether it be a snack or a fidget that can help them manage their emotions! It is amazing how a simple snack or fidget can lead to a deeper conversation! Can't say enough how much they enrich the lives of our school community when given access to the resources and supports that they need to become the people they aspire to be! Being a part of building this emotional impairment program for teenagers who are finally getting the support they deserve is everything to me and I hope to continue to build it out to showcase that my students are pure magic!
