This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

COVID-19 forced students to spend more time on technology and less time learning to create and collaborate in person with their peers. I see this in the way students struggle to socialize and interact in positive ways. By providing my students with extra drills and ear protection to use in the scene shop, this project empowers them to explore the ways they can create and build back a better world.

Students in my technical theatre class will use these materials to construct sets for a haunted house, the fall play, and the spring musical.

Every year I witness how collaborating and seeing a project come to life is satisfying and builds students' self esteem and confidence. Having this type of hands on experience, builds healthy relationships between peers.
