My Students

I teach kindergarten at a rural small school, with less than 200 students inPre-k through 8th grade. At least 3/4 of them qualify for free or reduced lunch. Most families have low incomes and a lot in the poverty level, a lot are being raised by someone other than their parents. I teach the only kindergarten class. I have 19 kids that are on different learning levels. I have a special relationship with all of my kids. I love all of them. I want Them to learn and have fun doing it. I want their experiences at school to be positive. I just need more resources in my classroom to do so.

My Project

I have many levels of learners in my classroom. I still have some kids that need to practice writing their name, alphabet and numbers. I have tried several different methods and used different manipulatives to help. I would like to try the magnetic boards so that they can get more practice. We are working on addition and I have students that are struggling with the basics of addition. I hope with the addition manipulatives, it will help them to achieve success. The Basics in education are essential and a must have, everything else builds on to those basics. I want all my kids to be successful.
