My students need four Apple iPads. Students will be required to write narrative stories on the iPads and present them to the public in an Evening of Authors event.
Students who have been labeled as poor readers often surprise us when they are given the opportunity to express themselves through writing. This project will give those students a chance to be successful. Students also thrive on the writing and presenting process; it is critical to their learning.
First grade is an important time to develop writing and speaking skills is order to use them in academic careers.
Students who have difficulty with fine motor skills would benefit from using the four iPads to convey their thoughts. These students hesitate to write because the process is difficult for them. This is especially true in the lower grades. An opportunity to write and share using technology would encourage all students, regardless of their abilities, to become writers and presenters.
My Project
My students need four Apple iPads. Students will be required to write narrative stories on the iPads and present them to the public in an Evening of Authors event. Technology knowledge is also required to excel academically and professionally. Familiarizing students with technology at an early age is one way to improve their chances at succeeding in these areas. This project will give students valuable experience and knowledge through the introduction of the latest computer/tablet technology. They will learn how to use the iPads as a resource for creative thought.
When students publish and present their own creative writing stories, they will demonstrate their knowledge of basic computer operation and using current technology.
This provides them with the fundamental building blocks for computer technology and the keys to successful careers, thus integrating technology fully into the classroom teaching and learning process.
