Earlier this year I opened a maker space for the first time in our classroom. Since starting this space, students creativity and curiosity has been at an all time high! Students are thinking critically about what they are learning and are making their ideas come to life in the maker space. However, we are running out of space and materials!
Our classroom needs materials to help us think about the world critically and design solutions to the problems we are learning about!
Students are beginning a project where they must research, design, and plan a solution for slowing and stopping erosion. For this assignment, students get to choose what materials to use and we work on these projects over the course of a few weeks. In order to maximize this experience our classroom needs shelves to store projects and materials, bins to hold work in progress, legos for building designs, and headphones to listen to videos while we research. These materials will allow students to use their STEM knowledge to come up with an erosion plan in a way that utilizes all that they have learned!
